Cardio vs Weights. Which is better for weight loss?

Want to lose weight? Want to lean out? Want to lower your body fat? Want to look good in a bathing suit? Want to see your muscles? Want to be toned?

If you want all of these things then the only WEIGHT YOU SHOULD BE CONCERNED WITH ARE THE WEIGHTS IN THE GYM!

Really think about it, how many times do you see people wanting to lose weight and go straight to the barbell? Maybe 5% of people.

My goal is to change this nonsense of fat loss=cardio…….. into fat loss+muscle gains+strength gains+posture gains+bone density gains+ body confidence=weight lifting.

Of course if you are overweight or obese and you start doing cardio you will lose a ton of weight, you weren’t supposed to have that weight on in the first place so any form of exercise in the beginning will provide benefit and slowly return you to where your body functions best. However if you are all about long term progress, and a healthy lifestyle change building up strength and adding more lean muscle tissue is crucial!

Don’t assume if you lose all this weight that you will have this lean looking muscle if you aren’t training on a consistent basis, eating a quality amount of macronutrient whole food, and being patient in the process.

Here are the benefits of weight training:

  • Increased energy
  • Less risk of injuries
  • Better posture
  • Strength
  • Self confidence
  • Self motivation
  • Lifting weights is therapy for the mind
