Local aim to break powerlifting records

3 competitors have been training at Valley Strength and Fitness in Clackamas for the past several months

Three locals are aiming to break state and national powerlifting records at the U.S. Powerlifting Association Drug Tested Oregon State Championships on Saturday, March 14, at Chinook Winds Resort and Casino in Lincoln City.

Jerri Glanders: a 61-year-old nurse, started working out four years ago to lose weight and will be competing for her first time this weekend.

Brian Gray: who has cerebral palsy, started lifting weights to improve his movement and quality of life.

Ryan Achenbach: broke state records in both 2018 and 2019 and one national record in 2019.

All three competitors have been training at Valley Strength and Fitness in Clackamas for the past several months in preparation for this competition.
